Day 11

Wow, haven't updated for a little while, have I? :D I just hit 15k, or 30%. I haven't hit a word count that high since my first attempt at Nano. ^_^ Word wars in the Kiwiwriters chatroom have helped a lot with upping word count. I added about 10k over two days! ^_^

Day Three

Day Three has gone even better than Day One, and I'm now at 3245 words. This year's Socnoc is going a lot better than last year's (last year I didn't even manage to get some words on the board), and it's looking like I might be able to break the writer's block I've been dealing with for the last year or two. ^_^
The story itself is coming together nicely, and the magical girls are starting to get in on the act by realising that someone out there may be after them. Lifting characters from previous stories has been an advantage as well, since the backstory I've come up with for those characters has given me an ending for the novel they came from. ^^
And oh yes, I've followed a Kiwiwriters tradition, and thrown in a character called Victor. ^^
All in all, I'm looking forward to Day Four, which is today, by the looks! ^_^

Day One has gone well for me, 1630 words. :D I've introduced three of the main characters, and my MC has come into her powers. Three of the characters in this story appeared in my first attempt at Nanowrimo, but only two of them have been re-introduced so far. I didn't complete Nano, but ended up with characters I liked, and a love triangle of sorts. ^_^
This year's SoCNoC novel is set a little later than that attempt at Nano, and hopefully I can finish this time around. :D

For the moment I'll be using this IJ to blog about the Southern Cross Novel Challenge (SoCNoC), and under the cut are dolls that I created the other night of two of my characters.
